Now, you can have a facelift without surgery

Now, you can have a facelift without surgery

Dear Lucy,

I just turned 50, and I am in a good shape physically, but my face looks like it could use a lift. I have done Botox, I may be inclined to try fillers soon, but my friends suggest I go under the knife for a facelift. The thought terrifies me. They say machines offer nothing but temporary results, and that if I want a marked difference, it should be surgery the good, old-fashioned way. What are your thoughts?

I am not a doctor, and I do not know just how much of a “lift” you need, but I do know that there have been so many beauty breakthroughs now in the medical world, such that going under the knife for a facelift is no longer the first and only viable option.

Take, for instance, Thermage. It’s one of the most reliable non-invasive treatments, and one of the most popular, too, at The Belo Medical Group. According to Dr. Guada Capiz of the Greenhills branch, Thermage is a machine that uses Unipolar RF that targets collagen and elastic fibers, promoting their exponential growth. This results in tighter, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin. Thermage can be performed on the face, eyes, neck, and body. Sessions are painless and there’s no downtime needed. Best results are expected after three to six months. Sessions are repeated every year. I asked further and she says Thermage can work very well with Botox and fillers.

I’ve often heard that Thermage is a favorite for those about to attend alumni homecomings and reunions. Truly, most would want to attend such events still looking like one’s old self, and non-invasive treatments are a way to achieve a look that suggests time (and life) has been gentle and good to you. As with any other treatment, always go to a trusted and reputable clinic.

While you’re at it, you can also check out Revlite. It is my favorite treatment as it makes the skin instantly brighter and more even-toned. Based on the condition of your skin, the doctors should be able to suggest a treatment plan that will deliver optimum results.
